another chapter in kachito's life...

yes i have another kachito story but i won't write about it...this time. I just have a few questions for you kitty owners. Kachis has been a very quiet kitty but lately he has been meowing alot. When ever i leave a room he starts meowing. where as before he would just follow me where ever i went. Now he starts meowing and then looks for me, however once he finds me he continues to meow. is this normal? i keep thinking that maybe he might be in some of pain but he still plays...which by the way he has gotten more energized. He no longer just plays on the floor, now he is getting on top of my tables and furniture and he already broke one the blinds in the living room. What's happening to Kachis? again is all of this normal?

damn hector!!!is there something you don't know about?!?!? anywho, yes he stops meowing once i interact with him. i have noticed though that when i'm in the kitchen cooking he starts hanging on my pants...that just started happening too. Kachis is lonely? hmm? i really don't want another cat though. AND i don't want to spray him with water or hit him, that's just mean. i don't want any more more broken blinds though...i really have to think about this one. he's just too cute to hit or yell at or spray with water.

Sounds like katchito is lonely and needs some new friends or a new toy. Post a pic of Katchito for us to see on your blog!

sorry sonrisa, but officially you have too much time on your hands to be knitting a scarf for a cat. that is too funny.

yeah sonrisa, you've crossed some sort of line when you start knititng a scaf for your cat. btw, I use the squirt bottle on Rosie and it works.

okay after last night i think i will try the squirt bottle...kachis broke another blind.

don't hesitate to use the water bottle. he will just need to see you reach for it and it will be enough. and it doesn't hurt him, cats just hate water. note how even drinking water seems to be a chore for them. also, there is nothing wrong with knitting a scarf for kachis. i'm making plans to make pillows/beds from an old chenille sofa cover for my kitties. smokey has his own fleece throw and mina has her own sleeping chair.

Sonrisa,

You don't have to squirt your kachito if you don't want to. If he wants to climb, buy him a big cat tree! Set up it somewhere he can just hang out with you. We don't mind our cats walking on the furniture, tables, etc. But sometimes they like to sit above us (on a cat tree) and look down.

I think there's a way in which we think of cat's meowing as "crying" or complaining, but we can also think of them as talking. Humans like to talk to cats and sometimes (maybe to be more like us) cats will start to talk to humans.

Mama cats also call to their baby cats. when they're bringing them food (prey). So one of our cats will call to us in the middle of the night, and we call back to her, and she brings us her ball (which we call a "bird") and we praise her thank her and sometimes pretend to eat the bird, and then we fall back asleep.
